Nutgrass in lawn

For some reason, our lawn has grown an over abundance of nutgrass. I know it's hard to get rid of and forgot when it the best time to treat it. Is now the best time or in the fall? Any product recommendations? I'd like to do some overseeding this fall too to quash out the stuff...
