Ginny Balistreri left a comment for Brenda Hancock
"I also live in O.P. and would love to have an offsite garden.  I can't grow all I want in my limited space.  A community garden would be great, but the only one that exists that I know of is in North K.C.   "

Ginny Balistreri replied to Leigh Levas's discussion Anyone have squash beetles really bad this year?
"I didn't have sqash beetles but I battled squash borer all season long by scraping off the eggs laid by the familiar black and red moth and cutting them out of the stalk when I found one. The plants survived and were healthy looking, but did…"

Ginny Balistreri replied to Jessica's discussion Where are the beans?

"Ivy is very tenacious and will attach its roots to anything. I had a difficult time getting rid of it. I tried using roundup and some of it resurfaced. I am anxious to try a garden auger attached to an electric drill and see if it can be easily…"

garden auger

Posted on February 26, 2010 at 4:05pm 1 Comment

Has any one used a garden auger? The kind that attaches to an electric drill that has a 3/8" shaft.

I understand that they're used for planting bulbs. I was wodering if you could use them for weed removal

and aerating small areas. I would appreciate any comments and\or opinions.
