Tim Mahony replied to Nicole Pitts's discussion 'Porcelain Vine'
I have one porcelain Vine ... on the north side of my house. It has been virtually care-free for me. I have a trellis, cut the plant back to about 8" prior to spring, and then it proceeds to fill the trellis (and no further) each year. I see…

Euonymus Scale--Issues and Suggestions

Posted on April 9, 2009 at 4:24pm 6 Comments

I have two Euonymus shrubs in high visible positions in front of my house. Last few years, they have been virtually oversome by scale. I have been "Fighting the good Fight" but the treatment is expensive and dangerous. Neighbors have the same plant with the same issue (a resouce for continued trouble). Some have recommended that I try something else in it's place. Any thoughts/Experience. The two are in a constrained space. I trim them annually.

Hi Tim,

I use a Canon 5D . . . For most of my garden shots I use the 24-105mm IS lens or a macro lens. My prrevious camera was a Rebel XT & I got pretty good results with that too. I usually take my pics early morning or early evening.
