You might check out applying neem. I'm not sure but don't think that soap/water will work for these nasty beetles unless you can shake them all out of your trees into the soap mixture.

I have heard that soap & water is a good spray & was wondering what proportions to mix. We had a swarm of Japanese beetles on our nectarene trees. We mixed the soap spray pretty strong & got rid of the bugs, but the fruit was shriveling up & all the leaves came off.

I planted three different kinds, do not remember the names, since my last post the grapes are beginning to ripen and taste good , but are very small and have 2 or 3 seeds, which fill the grape. The vines are looking good, and the grapes do too…

It could be black rot which causes the fruit to abort or become dried. The same fungus causes foliage damage. Black rot first shows up as small, reddish-brown spots on the upper leaf surface. This fungus prefers hot and humid climates, which we had…

I went out & looked and there were some leaves ruffed up and maybe a few spots but only on one end of the row. The rest of the row looked good & healthy. Am wondering if it may have been some rain & wind that ruffed them up, but not sure…

Growing grapes

This is my first year for growing grapes. I planted them last spring. They have really grown and are loaded with grapes. I am noticing some of the grapes are drying up & falling off. Is this normal? Is it the weather? Is it a disease? I am worried because it looked like I would have a tremendous crop this year. I need help.
