Hi Gina, Thanks so much for your reply. I'm especially glad to know about the tarp to heat up the plot. We have started a new compost pile in a different location in the mean time. I'm glad we learned our lesson!

Definitely do not, under any circunstances, eat anything grown in that plot. There are numerous things that will likely make you sick and it just isn't worth the risk. If your space is limited and you need to use it next year, I advise…

Help!

Hi, I'm a pretty new gardener and made a really big mistake this past year. I had no idea you weren't supposed to put dog poop on a compost pile; it hadn't occured to me that dog poop and chicken poop were much different. Anyway, we've been throwing it on our compost pile since August and mixed in a lot of broken down compost into our gardne plot in March. I've had stuff growing in there since May and now I'm wondering if our vegetables will be dangerous to eat or if I'm somehow ruined that…See More
