I have a major yellow jacket nest in my front yard around the base of a maple tree. It has opened up two large roots and measures about 12 inches by 8 inches in width and length. I have no idea how deep it goes - but it is very active. Because is it in an area near the house and around which I mow, I would like to get rid of them. The only thing I have read is boiling water with dish detergent. I don't like pesticides and vinegar won't help as I don't want to hurt the roots of the tree. …See More
