I would like to say like a lion. Either way, 2 weeks of lion beats 2 weeks or more of lamb and then boom we have one of those Kansas late March ice storms.

If you are living in a rural area with lots of space the daylilies would be perfect. They are very low maintenance and fast to multiply. They love sun but will grow in shade, just slower. There are over 60,000 registered daylilies and in our area the bloom season is mid-june till early august. You can buy early, midseason and late bloomers to extend your season. They come in every color combination except there is no blue and no pure white. The local daylily club as a spring sale and you can buy plants for $3. I now have over 850 varieties. Each bloom is only one day, hence daylily, but you look for what they call high bud count. As they multiply you get more scapes and hopefully each scape will have 5-10-15 buds. That scape will then bloom for about a two week period. If you are interested in getting some daylilies, contact me in early April and I can give you sale information...Lois Hart
