roma tomatoes
So do you like them because they make great sauces or because you just like to eat them the best?
I always like to grow Sun Gold. Even non-tomato eating people are surprised by it. I used to grow it on a trellis out front to share with neighbors walking by.

I have too many I like to eat. Some of the best flavored ones I have come up with have been cherries.

Yummy, I would give anything for a garden tomato right now. I ordered seeds last weekend and if I can hold off starting them until March I will be surprised. When i start growing them I eat 2-3 a day. Breakfast lunch and dinner!
Hey KCTomato:
My mama has developed divertic.... something. She can't eat seeds. Last year she ate some tomatoes just because she loves them so and had a bad reaction. What varieties besides roma is a tomato that a person could seed easily without destroying the slice. I really would like to grow them for her.

I want to try my hand at home-made salsa. Do you or anybody else have a suggestion for tomato variety that works best for fresh salsa?
Go to burpee's catalog, they have a new seedless tomato. For salsa I like the darker the better approach, they have a deeper, fuller flavor. I always use whatever is ripe at the moment (a variety) I really dont care for roma's (I just dont think they have any flavor) so dont know if there is a difference but some like salsa and sauce made with those. Good luck
for sauce and eating
its just way to close to dinner for me to torture myself with the thought of tomatoes. Have you ever made tomato juice with them? I like a variety for that but the roma's give a little thicker juice. ummmmmmmmm
no not a big fan of tomato juice really my wife loves tomato juice though i never thought about making it before though
so good if you add some garlic, jalepeno, celery, carrots and celery, parsley or cilantro to the juice before straining it through the seive.
what? no vodka?

;)
Yum, i have thought about what a good bloody mary that would be, I like it with a Blvd.Wheat beer! Have you ever had a "RED" beer? Man those are good on a hot summer evening with a Ribeye steak from the grill.
