IF the prognosticators are correct and we do have snowfall ---what are the freeze implications? It does not sound like the Easter Freeze of a couple years ago-- the temps are not going to be as cold nor below freezing for long. Also not as many things in bloom or budding out... but.. it's a freeze with snow. Potentially LOTS of snow.

What are your thoughts as to plant preservation?

The biggest threat caused by a snowfall is the accumulation on limbs, branches, flower stems etc... The additional weight can snap limbs and crush flowers.

The temperature is obviously a concern as well but if it stays in the 32-34 degree range, most plants will be OK. (Just don't tell me you've already set your tomatoes out).
lol--no not yet. My seedlings are all lined up in a laundry basket covered with press 'n seal wrap reinforced by duct tape... a portable greenhouse. Now residing in my garage. Anxious to go back to the sunny south deck.

I was just having an inner dialog about the temps/snow. That Easter freeze freaked me out. I lost so much even though I had things covered. Too much cold for too long, right? I think the temps are going to go below freezing though this weekend. I better go photograph all my daffifils. heavy sigh, It's going to be a crazy weekend.
Actually it looks like Saturday may be the worst but Sunday could be in the 40's. Cross your fingers.
