I've tried a worm farm and did pretty well, but then I got too busy to keep it up and decided to set my guys free in my compost pile until I had time to build a better home for them.

Recently read an article about worm tubes which has inspired me. Basically, you use a 2-3 foot piece of big PVC (at least 4" diameter) drill 1" holes in the bottom third, then bury it upright in the garden. Make sure all the oles are below ground. Start adding kitchen waste and keep the top covered with a lid of some sort to keep flies out. The worms will find the food and enrich the garden soil in the process. Can't wait to try this!
i have a pretty nice native prairie perrenial garden it seems to bring alot of butterfly's hummingbirds, and goldfinches. my friend has a nice sized worm bin
