"The peachy/apricot color with white petals.  There is a double daffodil called "replete" from Brecks that was a great peachy color."

Cooler weather is back

Posted by Shelly Marsh on August 25, 2011 at 10:45am 0 Comments

What a lovely surprise to step outside this morning.  After Tuesday and Wedneday where the heat index climbed once again into the 100's I was ready for a cooler day.  If the meteorologist are correct we shouldn't see those nasty heat indices again for awhile.

I am busy scheduling contractors today for estimates on reparing things damaged by last week's storms.   I called my friend Mark Bartlow with Ryan Lawn and Tree on Monday, he was out on Tuesday to give me a bid and the next…

Spring like weather has returned

Posted by Shelly Marsh on April 12, 2011 at 5:35pm 0 Comments

What a perfect day! More spring like, finally! After this past weekend where the temperatures soared into the 90's it is nice to get a reprieve from the summer like weather. Local meteorologists are making noise about a chance of rain Thursday. I hope their right. We sure could use some rain. The warmer temps and high winds are drying things out. Spring like weather this week and a possible frost this weekend. Yikes I hope not. I'll keep my eye on the weather and keep you posted.

Colorado snow

Posted by Shelly Marsh on March 28, 2011 at 1:19pm 0 Comments

As you can imagine I was totally disheartened by this weekend's weather.  Early Saturday morning Kevin and I headed out to our son's soccer game with the sky threatening snow.  Sure enough, half way throught the game flakes were a flying.  It was cold and snowy.  All of us parents groaned about it.  What else could we do? The bright side, it didn't stick around very long.  Sort of like yesterday's snow.  I refer to it as Colorado snow.  One day it's here and the next day it's gone.  Supposedly… Continue

Eating my own words

Ok, so you know how I was groaning about the weather a couple of weeks ago and complaining about living in Kansas?  Well, I take it all back.  I just returned from playing tennis outside in February.  It was soooo nice.  No complaints here about days like yesterday and today.  Even my 12 year old son said to me this morning, "Isn't it nice to see the grass again?"  "I forgot what it looked like, I'm so use to looking at the snow".  I thought for sure that the snow would be around until…

Feel free to sing along

Posted by Shelly Marsh on February 14, 2011 at 11:06am 0 Comments

See what a little sunshine will do to a person?   I've had this song stuck in my head for the last couple of days so I thought sharing it seemed like the thing to do.

Zippity doo dah, Zippity aye,
My oh my what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine coming my way,
Zippity doo dah, Zippity aye.
